ROMAN is an Italian brand of agrochemical products based in Sicily, Palermo. We offer agrochemical solutions and products to the world of agriculture and farmers encompassing plant growth regulators, biostimulants, and speciality fertilisers.
Florentia (the above portrait), the Roman goddess of plants and flowers, serves as the central anchor point and iconic symbol of the ROMAN brand, embodying the company’s deep connection to nature and its reverence for ancient traditions. As a deity symbolising fertility, growth, and the nurturing aspects of agriculture, Florentia perfectly aligns with ROMAN’s mission to enhance and protect plant life through their advanced agrochemical solutions.
Her image, often depicted in the company’s branding and marketing materials, represents the harmonious balance between science and nature that ROMAN strives to achieve. This connection to Florentia not only underscores the company’s dedication to fostering healthy and abundant crops but also reinforces its cultural heritage, drawing on the rich tapestry of Roman mythology and Italian history. By invoking Florentia, ROMAN communicates its commitment to sustainability, growth, and the nurturing of the earth, resonating deeply with farmers and consumers who value tradition, quality, and environmental stewardship.
In our production practices, we take into account the concept of “Made in Italy” which is synonymous with premium quality and meticulousness. We do the production in an Italian way. In ROMAN “Made in Italy” is not merely a slogan, it’s a principle in our business ethics and quality management. We believe “Made in Italy” is a timeless heritage that must be preserved.
At the heart of everything we do lies our unwavering commitment to the “Made in Italy” mantra, guiding every aspect of our operations from sourcing, production to customer care. This dedication ensures that each product is crafted with the highest quality and attention to details, embodying the excellence and tradition that Italian craftsmanship is renowned for. Our customer care reflects this same ethos, providing personalised and attentive service that upholds our promise of authenticity and superior quality.
Design and quality are our emotional and functional values that connect us to our customers throughout the world of agriculture.
In our visual communication and brand messaging, we use a feminine and Italian voice that is evident everywhere from our packaging design to our touchpoint where we have rendezvous with our customers and partners.
So as to honour the Italian heritage and to celebrate the love of growing, our logomark has been made up of the head of a young Roman woman with Italy’s flag in the background surrounded with a circular decorative border and spikes of wheat inside.
In our brand terminology, our logomark symbolises the Roman goddess of fertility and blossoming namely Florentia, the goddess of flowers, vegetation, and nature.
In an imaginary, dramatic and minimalist way, we have employed a ladybird known as Coccinella /kot.t͡ʃiˈnɛl.la/ as our brand ambassadress (female ambassador) for our visual communications and storytelling. Ladybirds are beneficial insects that play a major role in keeping down populations of insects that feed on plants, they provide a natural way to control insect pests, particularly the dreaded aphids without using poisons that can contaminate the soil and eventually the water. Ladybirds are our sheroes (female heroes) to plants. They help farmers grow healthy crops. Coccinella in our brand terminology symbolises sustainable growth.
As spring arrives, so do Ladybirds, that is why they’re thought to be a sign of both fertility and rebirth of nature. Ladybirds are universally associated with good luck, positivity and new beginnings. It is believed that their presence means good fortune and change are heading the way. These feminine tiny creatures with their oval, dome-shaped bodies, six short legs and black dots on their orange, red, or yellow wings can also symbolise harmony and balance, spiritual guidance, abundance and protection.
